Our next book club meeting is scheduled for Monday, June 13th  (note new date) at 1:00 p.m. in-person at the Temple Beth Shalom. We will be reading The Hotel on St. James Place: Growing Up in Atlantic City between the Boardwalk and the Holocaust by Molly Golubcow.

This original memoir by a remarkable new storyteller brings Atlantic City in the 1970’s to life with colorful and heartbreaking characters. Although Atlantic City is one of the stars of these stories, the true stars are the author’s parents Sonia and Harry. Their journey from Holocaust survivors in Poland to hotel proprietors in Atlantic City unfolds in this touching tribute. Their countless displays of compassion, generosity, and humanity to their patrons prove once again that love conquers hate.

Molly will be joining our book club when we gather on the 13th.  In addition, a Zoom component will be available for those who are not physically able to join us.  Either in-person or on Zoom, you will not want to miss this meeting to hear directly from the author herself about her journey in writing the book as well as individuals who framed it.

Please let us know whether you will be able to join us in-person or on Zoom (rsvp to adulted@seashul.org).  See you then.
