The TBS Literary Society’s next book club read, scheduled for Monday, July 11 at 1:00 p.m. is The Personal Librarian by Marie Benedict. This historical fiction describes the life of Belle da Costa Greene, an extraordinary woman, famous for her intellect, style, and wit, hired by J. P. Morgan to curate a collection of rare manuscripts, books, and artwork for his newly built Pierpont Morgan Library.  The book details the lengths Belle must go to—for the protection of her family and her legacy—to preserve her carefully crafted white identity in the racist world in which she lives.
