Temple Beth Shalom is so pleased to welcome Mark Oppenheimer author of Squirrel Hill

Mark Oppenheimer provides a piercing portrait of the struggles and triumphs of Squirrel Hill, Pittsburgh, one of the oldest Jewish neighborhoods in the country, in the wake of unspeakable tragedy that highlights the hopes, fears, and tensions all Americans must confront on the road to healing

Twenty copies of Mark’s book are available for congregants to read the book, and then return it to the Temple for the next person on the list. Please contact the Temple Office (609- 266-0403) if you’d like to arrange a time to pick up a book. Like a library, we’ll let you know when it becomes available!

Mark Oppenheimer hosts Unorthodox, the #1Jewish-themed podcast in English (according to iTunes). For six years, from2010-2016, he wrote a biweekly religion column for The New York Times. He now writes for The New York Times Magazine, Mother Jones, Slate, and Tablet. He teaches English at Yale, where he is the director of the Yale Journalism Initiative.
