More about Rabbi Simcha Raphael, Ph.D.:

A native of Montreal, Quebec, Canada, Rabbi Raphael is the Founding Director of the DA’AT Institute for Death Awareness, Advocacy and Training. He has served as Adjunct Professor in Religion at LaSalle University and Temple University, and is on Faculty of the Art of Dying Institute of the New York Open Center. He works as a psychotherapist and spiritual director in Philadelphia. A Fellow of the Rabbis Without Borders Network, he has written extensively on death and the afterlife and is the author of the groundbreaking book, Jewish Views of the Afterlife. and is co-editor of Jewish End-of-Life Care in a Virtual Age: Our Traditions Reimagined. Rabbi Raphael lives in Philadelphia with his wife, Rabbi Geela Rayzel Raphael, who herself is a noted composer of Jewish liturgical and folk/popular music, and performer.
