Jewish Spiritual Practices for Difficult Times: Torah and the Science of Self-Compassion

Temple Beth Shalom is excited to welcome

to explore Jewish and psychological perspectives on compassion. This workshop will be highly experiential, interactive and deal with emotional content.

Using the Kabbalistic Tree of Life, we will explore a dynamic Jewish model for understanding and practicing self-compassion. Jewish and psychologically based meditations and Torah study will be part of our exploration. There will be opportunities for self-reflection and guided meditations to help learn practical strategies for opening the heart, responding to suffering, dealing with self-criticism, and practicing self-care.

More About Rabbi Kravitz:

The workshop presenter is Rabbi Yaacov Kravitz, Ed.D. a licensed psychologist and pastoral counselor in private practice specializing in mindfulness-based therapies for emotional disorders, addictions, and chronic physical illness. He writes and teaches about spirituality,     Spiritual Intelligence, Kabbalah, mindfulness, and spiritual healing.
