The next meeting of the TBS Literary Society is scheduled for Monday, November 14 at 1:00 p.m. (rescheduled due to calendar conflicts) at Temple Beth Shalom. We will be reviewing the book  Dead Wake Dead Wake: The Last Crossing of the Lusitania by Erik Lawson.  Dead Wake offers a detailed look into the May 7, 1915, sinking of the British passenger ship the Lusitania by a German U-boat near the start of WWI. It is a story that many of us think we know but don’t, and Erik Larson tells it thrillingly, switching between hunter and hunted while painting a larger portrait of America at the height of the Progressive Era. Gripping and important, Dead Wake captures the sheer drama and emotional power of a disaster that helped place America on the road to war.

If you are not a member of this group, you are missing out on the opportunity for thought-provoking discussions on books from a variety of genres; please feel free to join us and check us out!

Please let me know whether you will be able to join us in-person at Temple Beth Shalom or on Zoom (rsvp to adulted@seashul.org).  See you then.
