Temple Beth Shalom, presents Leo Lieberman, author of 10 books, including Memoirs of Laughter and Garlic and Three Couches No Waiting, amusing stories from the old neighborhood as well as classics of Jewish Literature. While reflecting on the “good old days” of his youth or commenting on contemporary topics, Leo’s messages warm the readers’ hearts.

More about Leo Lieberman:

Often  introduced as “New Jersey’s Sam Levinson,”  because of his weekly column, “chalk Dust”  which appeared for well over ten years and received the Rockower Award for Excellence in Commentary  from the American Jewish Press Association. Leo’s books include  Dictionary of Correct English Usage, Classics of Jewish Literature and Essential English for the College Bound He has published numerous  essays, poems and scholarly papers, and has also lectured before many national and international Jewish and Civic groups.  In addition, Leo  has taught Jewish Studies as well as Holocaust Studies at Richard Stockton University where he served as Associate Professor  for over twenty five years. He served as a Professor of English at the City University of New York and was a Principal of an intermediate school in New York. He studied at  the  City University of New York and Hebrew Union College and earned his PhD  from Fordham University where he specialized in  AngloSaxon and ClassicalHebrew Literature. Having emigrated from the Bronx, Leo Lieberman currently resides in Margate, New Jersey and proudly affirms that he delights in  three children, eight grandchildren and three great grand children.
