A way for us to celebrate Tu B’Shvat we will be holding a virtual tour of the Wind Farm and Wastewater Treatment facility.

January 17 – TuB’shvat – virtual tour ACUA – Bal tashchit (Hebrew: בל תשחית) (“do not destroy”) is a basic ethical principle in Jewish law rooted in Deuteronomy 20:19–20. In early rabbinic law however, the bal tashchit principle is understood to include other forms of senseless damage or waste including lamp oil. As Tu B’Shvat is the commemoration of our Jewish environmental consciousness, it is appropriate to learn about how our very own Atlantic County Utility Authority (ACUA) is relying on renewable energy and green practices to manage wastes in Brigantine and the surrounding area.
